Chilly end to the fishing in October but November warming up.
By Captain Roan z - Posted Wed. Nov. 5, 2008 - 3:24 p.m.
Fishing in the Naples and Marco area was definitely hot and cold at the end of October. A cold winter blast came though which interrupted some spectacular Snook and Tarpon fishing. And even though the daytime fishing slowed the night still belonged to the fly anglers. I hope for continued warm weather through November and continued strong fishing. Read more...
Great Forecast ahead for month of October! Check it Out!
By Captain Roan z - Posted Tue. Oct. 7, 2008 - 12:18 p.m.
Well September has come and gone and now we are firmly entrenched in October. The Fishing in the Naples and Marco area should continue about the same as for September with a slight increase in our offshore fishing along with an increase in Redfish and a decrease in our Snook and Tarpon activity. Now remember this all depends on the weather and the abundance of bait in our water. If the temps stay high like they did last year then the Redfish that are here will be less active but the Snook and Tarpon will be more active. So far this has been the case. It looks as if at least for the next couple of weeks that the fishing in the Naples and Marco area is going to stay about the same with good numbers of Snook being caught from the back country to the beaches. The near shore wrecks will be producing on many fronts including some inshore species like Snook and Tarpon migrating out early getting ready for the winter slow down and some Redfish moving in to feed on the copious amounts of bait that will be their. Fishing in the Naples and Marco area was saved by just receiving a glancing blow from Faye. I hope we can stay out of the direct path of the rest of them. If the storms stay away fishing shouls stay good for september. Read more...

Fishing in the Naples and Marco back country waters were hard to beat in July. If weather patterns hold the same for August should be just as good just look for a little movement of the fish. Read more...

If anyone asks if we have a decline in the Snook population we can dispell the rumors this week. I have seen more Snook in one week then i have in my whole life living here. Get out and catch some nice fish but please release them gently they are out of season and are getting ready to spawn. Read more...
Getting very fishy in the Naples and Marco area.
By Captain Roan z - Posted Mon. May 19, 2008 - 7:57 a.m.
The wind has been interesting. I would expect by now to be into summer wind patterns but NOOOO. Ofshore from the Southwest isn't helping things out much. Thank god the fish are here and wanting to eat. Snook, Tarpon, and Reds are in the feeding mood on fly, spin, and bait. Read more...

Fished everyday last week and except for some wind burn we did ok. We didn't slay them by any means but we worked hard and caught some nice Redfish and Snook both at night and during the day in the Naples and Marco waters. Read more...

Well, I am sure glad to have this month behind me. I can sum it up in one word inconsistent. We fished hard this month and had some great fishing and some not so great. Oh the usual players were about the Sea trout, and Pompano, but one day you slammed them and the next you were struggling for a keeper or two. Read more...
