• “Why is Reclaimed Wood Flooring in Vogue?” 2 p.m. today. Learn about sources for recycled wood flooring and how using it is cost effective while producing a beautiful unique look. Sponsored by The Wood Floor Co. and Soho Kitchens.

• “Meet Artist Carol McArdle,” noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 13. Florida West Arts’ “gallery artist” Carol McArdle will be doing an easel demonstration.

• “Successful Accessorizing is a Balancing Act,” 2 p.m. Sept. 20. Learn how to accessorize any surface and how to mix elements and textures for different looks, with sponsorship by Pierre Deux.

• “Meet the Artists on Opening Day,” noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 27. Meet several artists participating in an exhibition at the Florida West Arts Showcase Sept. 27 through Oct. 22.

• “Organization Basics,” 11 a.m. Sept. 18. Ruffino Cabinetry organizational and closet design expert Barb Roessner offers ways to better use pantries, closets and cupboards to in the home.

• “Focal Point: Custom Wall Units,” 11 a.m. Sept. 25. Lorts representative Michael Mather speaks on measuring for and determining which wall units will work best in each room.

    Since March 6, coyotes have been fingered in a string of attacks against dogs, cats and goats in Lee and Collier counties. Coyotes have killed three small dogs, injured three others, and caused a man who came into contact with the coyote’s saliva and a woman who was bitten by one to have rabies shots.
