Naples' Natalie McNicholas and Mary Jane Hiestand both advanced to match play at the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur on Sunday in Ann Arbor, Mich.
McNicholas, who started the day tied for sixth, shot a 7-over 79 and slipped to a tie for 19th at 151, but still easily made it to match play at Barton Hills Country Club. Hiestand, a Hideout Golf Club member, shot an 80 and tied for 48th at 158 and also advanced.
Match play begins on Monday.
Bonita Springs' Jan Phillips bounced back from a first-round 86 with a 3-over 75, but missed a playoff for the final spots in the 64-player match-play field by a stroke at 161.
