APPOINTMENTS
Carmen Rey-Gomez has been named director of the newly-formed Hispanic Institute at Hodges University. Rey-Gomez is a member of the Lee County Multicultural Affairs Advisory Board. She was the director of Student Support Services at Edison College, where she worked to retain and graduate first generation, low-income and disabled students.
Rocco F. Pisera has been named executive chef/director of food and beverage. In his new position, he will be responsible for overseeing the daily food and beverage operations of the Holiday Inn Historic District, including the hotel’s on-site restaurant and bar, Café 2431.
Donna Spadafora has been named fine arts teacher at Royal Palm Academy. She will design and teach the creative educational curriculum for pre-K through eighth grade.
Bryan Lee, of BSSW Architects, has received notice from the Department of Business and Professional Regulation that he has successfully completed the requirements to become a registered architect. Projects in Lee’s portfolio include the Lee County Justice Center.
Joan Hogan has been named assistant to the executive director of the Holocaust Museum of Southwest Florida. She will be involved in all aspects of museum administration.
Leah Miles has been named assistant curator of the Holocaust Museum of Southwest Florida. She assists in the acquisition, research and preservation of artifacts and is involved in the development and application of museum docent training.
Robbie Manauis has been named education assistant of the Holocaust Museum of Southwest Florida to help with expanding programs at Collier and Lee County schools.
Michael K. Sheeley, president of Sheeley Architects, in Fort Myers, has received accreditation as a LEED Accredited Professional by the U.S. Green Building Council. The U.S. Green Building Council is the nation’s foremost coalition of leaders from across the building industry to promote a new generation of buildings that deliver high performance, are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.
Kevin P. Hagan has been named vice president, commercial loan officer for TIB Bank. He works with its affiliate bank, The Bank of Venice, and leads commercial and commercial real estate lending activities in Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte counties.
Donandrea R. “Dee” Stemle has joined DOC Hospitality as director of sales. She will be responsible for overseeing the sales and marketing operations of the Holiday Inn Historic District including all group sales and meeting functions. Stemle has more than 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
Brendon J. Tripodo has been named senior vice president, private banking manager for Fifth Third Bank (South Florida). He serves on the board of directors of The David Lawrence Foundation and United Way of Collier County.
Stacy Ahern has been promoted to Senior Tax Associate for RSM McGladrey | McGladrey & Pullen.
Mary Feider has been promoted to Audit Manager for RSM McGladrey | McGladrey & Pullen.
Awards
West Coast Florida Enterprises has been awarded the 2008 Partner in Quality Award by Firestone Building Products. The award recognizes the company for its long standing commitment to installing quality roofing systems.
CurtCo/Gulfshore Media, the publishers of Gulfshore Life, Gulfshore Business and a number of other regional publications, received 12 top awards at the annual Florida Magazine Association Publishing Conference. Honors included best illustration and best single, original color photo.
RECOGNITIONS
Juan D. Bendeck has been named to Gulfshore Business magazine’s annual list of the top “40 Under 40” business leaders in Southwest Florida. He is an attorney with Hahn Loeser & Parks and focuses his practice on estate planning.
Betty L. Curry, operations manager for Lutgert Insurance, was named Volunteer of the Year, during the Insurance Professionals of Collier County annual banquet.

J.L. Wallace has been awarded a contract by SunTrust Real Estate Corp. for the construction of a SunTrust Bank at The Forum Center at 3330 Forum Blvd. in Fort Myers. The project will include a 3,773-square-foot branch bank building with three drive-thru teller lanes.

RELOCATION
Premier Properties of Southwest Florida’s Property Services Division will relocate to 6318 Trail Blvd. The 1,941-square-foot facility is east of U.S. 41, and north of Pine Ridge Road in Naples.
