What is your favorite restaurant? Bice. It’s really special — the food and the atmosphere. We get the salad, tuna and tiramisu.
What other places do you like? Randy’s Fish Market has excellent crab cakes and sweet potato fries. That’s something different for us.
What is your favorite cuisine? Seafood and some oriental food. German Chinese food is like American Thai food with more frying. We don’t like the American Chinese much.
What qualities do you look for in a restaurant to entertain guests? Germans don’t go out to eat that much, but then we want it to be really nice. We find Naples to be more European than other cities.
What don’t you like? We are used to having more courses in a meal: Wine, appetizer, entrée, in smaller amounts ... here, they bring you really big plates of food. We have a saying that we learn in childhood: “You have to eat [everything on] your plate.”
