Despite fire damage, Bonita Springs man says his marina will stay open

Not even a fire can stop Mike Murphy from keeping his doors open.

Around 4 p.m. on Saturday, part of Marina Mike's, which is owned by Murphy, was set ablaze. Firefighters believe it was an electrical fire, but are currently investigating the exact cause.

The fire only damaged part of the building, but a boat was completely engulfed by flames.

"The boat has some severe fire damage, which luckily the customer had insurance on the boat," Murphy said. "Other than that, it's really just the one boat and a couple of small motors, but we got very lucky due to the response of the Bonita Springs Fire Department."
