BONITA SPRINGS — The brush fire is now 100 percent contained, NBC-2 reports.
Bonita Grande Drive and East Terry Street
A brush fire in Bonita Springs grew to about 60 acres Wednesday near Interstate 75.
The fire started around 4:45 p.m. near the intersection of Bonita Grande Drive and East Terry Street, just east of the Bonita Springs Soccer Complex. The fire was about 90 percent contained late Wednesday, said Lt. Cesar Sanchez of Bonita Springs Fire and Rescue.
Crews put up signs warning drivers of smoke on nearby roadways, he said. As of 9 p.m., the smoke was not affecting visibility on Interstate 75, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
No structures were damaged, and the fire’s cause remains under investigation.
