Florida Gulf Coast University junior Kyle English fired a three-under 69 in Wednesday’s third and final round of the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, as the Eagles finished in third place.
English earned all-tournament honors with his fifth-place finish at Chateau Elan Legends Course in Braselton, Ga.
“Kyle had a great tournament and really battled through the weather to shoot the best round of the day,” said head coach Brent Jensen. “To finish in the top five in this tournament is a great accomplishment.”
In the team standings, FGCU shot a 300, which was the second-best score of the day. FGCU made up 11 strokes on third-place Kennesaw State, but came up two strokes short.
North Florida captured the A-Sun’s automatic NCAA bid with a final score of 875, four strokes better than runner-up East Tennessee State.
