String of home burglaries reported in Naples

Naples police are looking for suspects in four residential burglaries that happened Friday afternoon and evening.

The four burglaries happened from about 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the 600 block of Orchid Drive, the 100 block of Sixth Street North, the 2800 block of Leeward Lane and the 1400 block of Marlin Drive.

All four houses showed signs of forced entry with pry marks on windows or smashed rear doors. Detectives have not yet determined if the burglaries are related, said Lt. John Barkley, a police spokesman.

Among the items stolen from the homes were 250 euros, $5,000 in Iraqi currency, Social Security cards, passports, $1,500 gold Tiffany cuff links, a $4,500 Rolex watch and a $22,000 Rolex watch, according to police reports.

I wonder where they are looking? Duhhh.Iraqi money ? Im surprised NDN printed that. Paradise is gone.

Wait a minute....Can it be true??? Does Naples really, really have "crime?" From reading all the previous reports, one would think not!

Why wouldn't they print 'that.' We have plenty of them here with their Iraqi money.
They did learn to fly planes nearby.

I watched the Iraqis lined up with duffle bags to get their pay. Its going to take a billion years for it to increase in valuable just to be worth the paper its printed on.

The perfect crime!!! They hit residences inside the city limits, stole a bunch of stuff that NPD has no clue what it looks like and they probably walked out of the neighborhood in broad day light without a care in the world.

Now lets see if that one NPD detective who likes to make up stories about why he doesn't interview crime victims will interview the victim before he closes the case and reclassifies the case as malicious mischief or something like that. Hey Pablo what will your excuse be this time?

Get right on that "cover up" Tommy Terrific Weschler" the City Council and door mat, Ah I mean Mayor are counting on you to make the City appear squeaky clean and crime free.

Is there any truth t the rumor that Weschler and Mac, Ernie & Steve had a slap fight in the hall after Wescher teased Ole Stevey about him getting a shiny new Cop boat and Stevey getting the "bums rush" outa Council chambers. I can hear it now, I gotta boat and you didn't HA HA HAH HAH!!!

The Victims of the crime may get lucky if the thieves try to pawn the stuff in Collier County and get nailed by CCSO. NPD Detectives probably can't figure out where they all are.

iraqi dinars? must be one of those idiots that keep buying the dinars in the fantasy that they will revalue the currency, has anyone spoke to these dopes? there clueless..

I am surprised this wasn't covered up, But the list of crime in Naples keeps growing. I am moving out to the Golden Gate Estates where it is safe! Yes there a few bad apples out there, but most of the residents own guns and will shoot an intruder instead of inflating claims of what was stolen. 5000.00 worth of Iraqi money? Really? They would need a dump truck to carry it away.

Funny how the headline didn't say "West Naples" the way they always capitalize on crimes west of 41 with the label "East Naples" whether it's north, south, or central! How about including "Park Shore" or "Moorings" or "Olde Naples" or "Coquina Sands" in a headline or two?
NDN needs to realize that there are neighborhood designations - such as "Naples Manor" or "Bayshore" or "Aqualane Shores" - but surely no neighborhood called "East Naples"

So this goes to all you intruders,
beware of the owner, cause the owner is a shooter.

To the bad guys that are hitting Port Royal, be careful which house you pick.

Can we shoot the burglars? I wouldn't mind, but will only eliminate them if I have permission.

Or maybe it's a military veteran that was stationed there and saved some of the currency as a souvenir.
My son has traveled this glob in the U.S. Marine Corp and has kept some currency from every Country he has visited.

Note to police - check their vendors (lawn service, A/C, Pool, etc) I'll bet money there's some commonality there.

The chances of getting caught in the city of naples is very good. The Miami guys got the memo, stay outside city limits, lee county is even better! Naples has an excellent police force. If councilman price doesn't have them catching bicyclists who run stop signs in the middle of the summer, they actually have a great track record of catching all criminals.

AAAHHH HAH HAH HAH HAH!!!! You make funny for all to read!!! Te NPD detecives and CSI person could not find "a fart in a rain barrel" if their lives depended on it. That fact is due in large part to the lack of leadership and Boss Mosses Lap Dog Renkie sticking his nose into stuff he should stay out of.

Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe they have the Iraqi Dinars for another reason. I have a bunch that I brought home as souvineers from my tour in the military over there. Whoever had them is probably a veteran. Stop bashing them and use your head.
