Naples High School graduate Jackie Traina and Alabama beat Florida for the second straight day to win the SEC Championship in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Sunday.
Traina (31-2), a sophomore right-hander, drove in a run and pitched a complete game to lead the third-ranked Crimson Tide a 5-3 victory over Florida.
The Gators will be seeded third in the conference tournament, which begins Thursday back in Tuscaloosa, and will face No. 6 seed LSU at noon ET.
Alabama scored four times in the first, and one was on a Traina RBI single. The Gators rallied with three runs in the fourth against Traina, who got a strikeout and two foul-outs to get out of the inning. Traina allowed five hits, three runs, walked three and struck out six.
