Former Florida Gulf Coast University pitcher Casey Coleman is back in the big leagues.
Coleman, a right-hander, was recalled from Triple-A Iowa on Saturday to replace reliever Carlos Marmol, who was put on the 15-day disabled list with a hamstring injury. He gave up two runs in two innings on Saturday.
Coleman was 2-3 with a 3.48 ERA and 30 strikeouts over 33 2/3 innings. He made six starts and seven appearances overall, and is expected to pitch out of the bullpen.
Last year, Coleman was 3-9 with a 6.42 ERA with the Cubs. He made 17 starts. In 2010, he was 4-2 with a 2.11 ERA while making eight starts.
