A man accused of stealing beer insisted on drinking the last of his loot before being handcuffed.
David Philip Miller, 49, of the 6300 block of Radio Road, East Naples, was arrested by Collier County sheriff’s deputies Monday.
Employees of the Circle K on Radio Road said they saw Miller walk out with an 18-pack of Busch beer. He then rode off on a brown bike, reports stated.
Deputies found Miller hiding behind a tree farther down Radio Road, drinking a can of the spoils. Miller refused to set the 12-ounce beer down, and instead chugging the last of it before showing the deputy his hands, reports said.
Miller had the 18-pack stashed away in his bike basket, reports show.
Miller was booked and faces charges of petty theft of less than $100. The case cost $18.99.
