Three Broward County men suspected of burglarizing homes in Collier County were arrested Tuesday afternoon following a traffic stop on Interstate 75.
Deputies said the men were traveling in a red Hyundai Elantra rental car that had been identified as a suspect vehicle in several Golden Gate-area burglaries. Around noon Tuesday, they pulled over the vehicle near mile marker 80 of I-75 after noticing the car had illegally tinted windows as well as a license plate matching the suspect vehicle's, according to an arrest report.
Inside the car were Andy Jermaine Johnson, 29, of Fort Lauderdale; Rommel McDonald Bradshaw Jr., 25, of Lauderdale Lakes; and Roney Howard IV, 28, of Fort Lauderdale. After a background check showed Howard was on state probation, deputies called his probation officer, who said Howard was not allowed in Collier County without permission nor was he to be hanging out with known felons like Johnson and Bradshaw, reports said.
Deputies placed Howard under arrest for a probation violation and began the process of towing the car since neither Johnson nor Bradshaw had valid driver licenses, according to reports. Inside the vehicle, deputies found a flatscreen TV, a revolver, a box of ammunition and several pillowcases filled with jewelry, reports said.
A detective recognized one of the pieces of jewelry, an $800 watch, and a white pillowcase as items missing from a home in Golden Gate Estates that was burglarized. All three men were arrested on accusations of burglary, grand theft and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Poor laddies. They were bringing some nice freshly laundered pillowcases to the shelter so that the homeless soulds could sleep more comfortably, when those mean ol' coppers pinched them.

Glad they got them.
Where do you get a rental car with illegally tinted windows?
Is the rental car company liable for the violation? Just asking.
