Art at Home: Lighting with a twist
Friday, Sept. 5, 2008
There are many words to describe Aaron Tabor’s work, but the best term is probably “twisted.” If that sentence suggests Tabor’s work is strange, unseemly or obscene, it isn’t. His tree sculptures are serene and his lamps are luminous. Friday, Sept. 5, 2008

Treasures in the Attic: Cinnabar snuff bottle is pretty — but pretty young, too
Friday, Sept. 5, 2008
Please find enclosed photos of an antique opium bottle. It is approximately 2-3/4 inches tall. I had someone interpret the date on the bottom and was told it was 1664. The top has a small spoon attached to it. I would appreciate any information you can provide. Full story »
Handyman: Removing old paper is a slow, but flexible, task
Friday, Sept. 5, 2008
Q: I’ve tried several things to remove old wallpaper. I’m guessing the people who set it up were poorly skilled. Because of that, I put different wallpaper over that, but it’s just making more of a problem. How can I remove old wallpaper without causing damage to the wall? Full story »

Smart Money: Will or no, Mom’s house may go to new spouse
Friday, Sept. 5, 2008
My widowed mother remarried several years ago. She recently put her new husband’s name on the deed. This is the home in which they currently live. Former Cape Coral resident Jenna White knows a thing or two about demon neighbors. She’s had them all Full story »

Make It Green: Plants you can hit with a hammer
Friday, Aug. 29, 2008
Reliable sources claim that native plants are better than those icky “other” plants. In fact, when we do plantings for non-residential projects in Lee or Collier, we are required to use the natives quite heavily. Yes, it’s not clear why a seagrape hedge is superior to a ficus hedge, but those are the rules. Full story »
