Five Bonita firefighters, including Carey, five Lee County Sheriff’s personnel and seven from Lee County EMS were honored with the Phoenix Award on Monday night for resuscitating two people suffering from cardiac arrest in separate incidents earlier this year, one on Jan. 1 and the other on Feb. 1.
