I support the veto. I think the teachers deserve a lot more money based on merit, not on FCAT scores, or on the performance of a broad range of students. They shouldn't be subjected to that type of scrutiny.

I talked to my Mom who retired from working in schools here. I don't want to see teachers who will teach solely for a test. I don't want them to teach to the test at all. They should teach to children, period.

I hate what he did. He should have let it go through. The teachers unions are way too in control of the budgets here.

As far as basing a teacher's salary on a student's test score goes, it isn't fair to the teachers. I agree with how he vetoed the Bill.
