About Clam Pass

Clam Pass

Description

State and local officials often refer to parks as the real Florida. Clam Pass is a good example. As remote as local beaches with car access get, Clam Pass is at the intersection of Seagate Drive and Crayton Road just south of the Pelican Bay development. Another public park with lots of beach space and a three-quarter mile elevated boardwalk through a coastal tree canopy.

Pros: Native vegetation and untouched shoreline.
Cons: Difficult to find and squeezed between Pelican Bay and the Naples City limits.
Likely visitors: Nature lovers and people wanting a little seclusion.
Getting there: Take Pine Ridge Road west until it turns into Seagate Drive. The parking lot is at the end of the road. Free, frequent tram service is available from the parking lot or the beach is about a twenty-minute walk.
Parking: $8 entrance fee per vehicle or free for Collier County residents with a beach parking permit. There is a parking attendant present from January 1 to April 30, on other dates visitors must print receipt from a parking machine. The machine does not give change and takes $1 and $5 bills only. Receipt must be shown on car dash.
Facilities: There are restrooms, showers, picnic tables and concessions.
Hours: 8 a.m. to dusk
Other details: There are beach rentals, including beach chairs. Tram transports visitors from parking area to beach on boardwalk. Beach wheelchairs are available free of charge. Restaurant hours are from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages.
