Biography
An avid lover of sports and writing from a young age, I’ve known most my life I wanted to combine the two to make money. It took me 24 years, however, to know that I wanted to get out of Indiana. Buried under 17 inches of snow in my Marion, Ind., apartment in February 2007, I promised myself that would be my last winter in the Hoosier State. As soon as the snow thawed, I packed up my meager belongings and drove 1,200 miles south. I started writing for the Daily News in August 2007, and I still swear I have the best job in the world – I get paid to watch sports. When I’m not on assignment you can find me on the basketball courts of the Naples YMCA or the flag football fields of East Naples Middle School. Or I’ll be at home cheering on the Indiana Pacers, the Buffalo Bills or my Ball State University Cardinals. Sports isn’t my entire life, though, just most of it. I also enjoy traveling, including my annual birthday trip home to Indianapolis (the greatest city in America).-
