Biography
Joe Landon is Executive Director of Communications Services for the School District of Collier County and keeps Citizen readers updated on what’s happening in local schools with his weekly “Class Notes” column. He may be reached at landonjo@collier.k12.fl.us, or by phone at 239-377-0180. Joe was a TV and radio broadcaster for 30 years prior to joining the district in 1998. He is also the former general manager of WSGL radio (CLASS 103 FM). Among other responsibilities with the Collier school district, Joe manages the Education Channel, Comcast cable 99 and online at www.collierschools.com. Naples has been Joe's home for 22 years. A native of South Bend, Indiana, Joe worked in radio in Joliet, Illinois, and then spent 19 years working for TV and radio stations in Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, and Niles, Michigan. Joe is a graduate of Columbia College, Chicago.-
