Biography
Liz Freeman came to the Naples Daily News in 1994 when she was 10, just kidding but don't do the math.
I moved to Naples after spending time in Fort Myers and Sarasota with a stint in between in Gainesville. I went to the University of Florida's journalism school, earning the bachelor of science degree as a Post-Baccalaureate student. After that, I stayed in Gainesville for a while working at UF's Health Science Center doing medical reporting for the College of Medicine and other graduate schools in medical-related fields. That's where I got my interest in medical and health reporting.
In a previous life, I graduated with a bachelor of arts in sociology and political science from the Hobart & William Colleges in Geneva, N.Y. The liberal arts colleges are located in the Finger Lakes region where snow was more common than the warm sun. Somehow, that experience played a role in my migration to Florida.
