I read all of these comments and remember my own corporal (sp?) upbringing. In today's parenting atmosphere of "hands off", "let's reason with them" and "they're my best friend", I'm wondering if there has been any serious studies done to determine if the physical punishment we rec'd as kids has any place in today's world.
I personally don't know the answer; just looking for answers. Maybe my memory from the past is overlooking some things. Of course, maybe it's not!

Susan Kronos - my guess is that your complaint has now rec'd much more attention than any employer would wish. Good luck and get ready for a few meetings.

Hope he's real proud of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. It is one of the primary reasons we are in our current economic dire straights now. With all federal constraints removed from their business, Wall Street's unfettered greed has now pushed us to economic ruination.

Robert Quigley: I like it! Doesn't matter who the president is either. Matter of fact, should be SOP for all politicians and it should be conducted by the newspaper in conjunction with their readers.
NDN - isn't this one of the traditional/timeless purposes of a good local newspaper? Be part of the solutions NDN instead of being a crap-disturber.

Riccio - ever hear of the term "gracious winner"? You make it oh so easy to continue to despise you. Maybe now that your guy won, you can ride off into the sunset as President Obama gets to work. I will wish him and our nation the best of luck. To you, just shut up for once.

Mr. Fournier - actually, there have been many MI companies that have gone out of business because of these payouts. In addition, the MI that is covered only does so for a portion of the loan amount. When a borrower put down 10% on a $500,000 purchase ($50K) and the home is now worth $250K, the MI company's obligation is not for the $250K loss in value when the borrower defaults. If that were the case, we would now have no purchases w/o 20% down unless the buyer uses FHA financing on a primary purchase.
